Importance

Importance says how much a relationship matters to you right now, from 1, a loose acquaintance, to 10, a key relationship.

It does two things:

• How often someone comes up. At 9–10 about every 45 days, at 1–2 a little over once a year. The full table.
• How long silence may last before the tie counts as dormant.

Be honest rather than generous. If everyone is a 9, the Dashboard fills up and nothing stands out. New people start at 5. You can change that under Profile → Network.
