About Innosuisse
Innosuisse is the Swiss Innovation Agency. Its task is to promote science-based innovation in Switzerland, and it does so through funding, networking, training and coaching.
The agency is a federal entity under public law with its own legal personality, based in Bern. The Federal Council sets its strategic objectives. On 1 January 2018 it took over the tasks of the former Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI).
Companies and research partners can apply for innovation cheques, innovation projects and larger flagship initiatives, or join international programmes such as Eurostars. Founders get coaching, help with going abroad through Start-ups GoGlobal, and the Entrepreneurship Training.
That training is free. It moves in modules from a first business idea through concept and validation to company creation, with extra workshops on financing, intellectual property, pitching and pricing. Innosuisse does not teach the courses itself. Providers such as Venturelab, ZHAW and several universities deliver them on its behalf.
In 2025 around 650 startups received coaching or internationalisation support from the agency.
