Markus Müller

Markus Müller co-heads the economic development agency of the Canton of Zurich, the Standortförderung within the cantonal Office for the Economy. He has shared the role with Samuel Mösle since January 2024. The agency is the first point of contact for companies that want to settle or start a business in the canton, and it supports existing firms and clusters.

Müller is an engineer by training. He studied materials science at ETH Zurich and completed his doctorate there. In industry he worked in process and product development, as Manager Production Engineering at Sensirion and then as Manager Advanced Materials and Technologies at Sonova. Alongside his job he earned an MAS ETH in Management, Technology and Economics. In 2021 he joined the canton as project manager for the high-tech sector.

He also teaches innovation and technology management part-time at the OST University of Applied Sciences in Rapperswil.
