Thomas Dübendorfer

About Thomas

Thomas Dübendorfer is president and co-founder of SICTIC, the Swiss ICT Investor Club, an association of business angels who invest in Swiss technology start-ups. He co-founded it in 2014 and has led it since then. In 2024 SECA named him Business Angel of the Year.

He trained as a computer scientist at ETH Zurich, where he earned his master's degree and a doctorate in cyber security. He worked as a software engineer at HP in Silicon Valley and spent seven years as tech lead for security and privacy projects at Google in Zurich. He has taught at ETH Zurich and as a guest lecturer at other universities in Zurich and Liechtenstein, and for five years he was president of the Information Security Society Switzerland.

Dübendorfer has co-founded nine Swiss tech start-ups, including Spontacts, Contovista and Frontify, and sits on the boards of several start-ups, among them Frontify. He edits the Swiss Angel Investor Handbook and has been named one of Switzerland's Digital Shapers three times.
