
About Stephan
Stephan Sigrist is the founder and head of W.I.R.E., an independent think tank in Zurich that he started in 2007. Its work sits at the intersection of economy, science and society, and he supports decision-makers in developing strategies for the long term.
He studied biochemistry at ETH Zurich and earned his doctorate at the Collegium Helveticum. He then worked in medical research at Hoffmann-La Roche, as a consultant at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and at the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute before founding W.I.R.E.
He edits the think tank's book series ABSTRAKT and is the author of numerous publications. With NZZ Libro he co-edited Decoding Artificial Intelligence in 2020 and co-wrote Brave New Sport in 2021. He sits on the foundation board of the Swiss Allergy Centre aha!, has served on the board of Science et Cité and was a member of the Innosuisse innovation council.
