About Simon
Simon Schären is Senior Legal Counsel at the Asset Management Association Switzerland (AMAS), which he joined in 2022. At the association he is responsible for legal and compliance topics.
Before AMAS he worked in financial market law at several Swiss law firms and at a Big Four audit firm. He studied law at the University of Bern and is an attorney. He is also a Privatdozent at the University of Bern, where he teaches legal compliance.
He writes on Swiss financial market law and its relationship to European rules. His books include Europakompatibles Finanzmarktrecht (Dike, 2024), Schweizer Finanzmarktrecht im europäischen Kontext (with Thomas Jutzi, 2022) and the second edition of Asset Management und kollektive Kapitalanlagen (with Thomas Jutzi, Stämpfli, 2026).
