
About Rajna
Rajna Gibson Brandon is Professor of Finance at the University of Geneva, where she has taught since 2008, and deputy director for education and external affairs of the Geneva Finance Research Institute (GFRI). She has been a member of the Bank Council of the Swiss National Bank since 2022. Her research covers asset pricing, experimental finance, corporate governance and sustainable finance.
She founded the GFRI and directed it from 2009 to 2016. From 2001 to 2009 she directed the national research programme NCCR FINRISK, and from 2007 she was head of research at the Swiss Finance Institute. Before Geneva she held professorships at the universities of Zurich and Lausanne and was an assistant professor at HEC Paris.
She was a member of the Swiss Federal Banking Commission from 1997 to 2004, sat on the Swiss Takeover Board and served on the board of Swiss Re from 2000 to 2018, followed by a seat on the board of BNP Paribas. She directs the Geneva Institute for Wealth Management and chairs its foundation board. She holds a PhD in economic and social sciences from the University of Geneva and did postdoctoral research at UCLA and NYU.
