About Oliver
Oliver Marchand is co-founder and CEO of Resilens, a Zurich company founded in 2026 that helps public authorities, hospitals, schools and portfolio owners turn climate risks into adaptation plans that can be financed. Its AdaptationReturn metric covers heat. He set up the company with Christian Schmelter and Stephan Heuel.
In 2015 he founded Carbon Delta, which built models for measuring climate risk in investment portfolios, and led it as CEO until MSCI acquired it in 2019. At MSCI he was managing director for research and development and head of climate risk research, where he developed the Climate Value-at-Risk model.
Before that he spent ten years at Fisch Asset Management, from 2005 to 2015, as head of IT and of its proprietary portfolio management systems. He had earlier been a scientist at MeteoSwiss and a scientific assistant at the German Weather Service. Marchand holds a master's degree in computer science from the University of Bonn and a PhD in computer science from ETH Zurich.
