Michel Kertai is a lawyer for venture capital and start-ups and co-founder of EMBARK.LAW, a firm focused on start-up law and cross-border expansion. He is admitted as an attorney in Switzerland and California.
He began as a corporate lawyer in Bern. In 2015 he moved to California to study for an LL.M. at UC Berkeley School of Law and worked with start-ups in Silicon Valley. After returning to Switzerland at the end of 2016 he founded EMBARK.LAW; the firm has operated as EMBARK.LAW AG since 2020, with Kertai on its board.
Kertai holds an MLaw from the University of St. Gallen. He has served SICTIC as a board member and adviser and has built up his own portfolio of start-up investments. He works in German, English, French and Hungarian.
