About Matthew

Matthew Lapinski is co-founder and CEO of Clee Medical, a Geneva neurotechnology start-up that gives neurosurgeons a real-time view of the brain during operations. Its platform, Neuro Access, combines ultra-high-resolution imaging with AI-guided navigation and works without contrast agents or radiation.

Lapinski spent more than ten years in the medical device industry in Boston. Clee Medical builds on research at the Wyss Center in Geneva, from which it spun out. He runs the company with CTO Abed Hammoud.

The start-up received CHF 150,000 from Venture Kick in March 2025 and a W.A. de Vigier Award worth CHF 120,000 in June 2025. In February 2026 it closed a seed round led by High-Tech Gründerfonds, with Zürcher Kantonalbank, Kickfund, FONGIT and Venture Kick taking part. The next step is a first clinical study in humans.
