Maria Iskic

Maria Iskic is managing partner of Rentsch Partner AG, the Zurich firm of attorneys and patent attorneys. She works in intellectual property, unfair competition and digital law, including questions around artificial intelligence, data protection and copyright online. She manages international trademark portfolios, advises start-ups and SMEs on development, licensing and sales agreements, and represents clients in court and in arbitration.

Iskic studied law at the University of Zurich, graduating in 2009, and is admitted to the bar. She later completed two Certificates of Advanced Studies at ETH Zurich, in applied information technology and in technology R&D and innovation, and holds the AIGP certification in AI governance. Before Rentsch Partner she worked at the District Court of Zurich, in the legal department of a multinational energy and automation group, in the IP and IT practice of a large law firm and at a legal publisher.

She has written on trademark and unfair competition law, including contributions to the Schweizerisches Immaterialgüter- und Wettbewerbsrecht series. Chambers Europe, Legal 500, WTR 1000 and IAM Patent 1000 list her.

She regularly speaks on IP strategy for software start-ups, together with her Rentsch Partner colleagues.
