About Laure-Emmanuelle

Laure-Emmanuelle Perret is CEO and co-founder of LightSeeds, a start-up from the canton of Neuchâtel. It makes ultra-light solar systems for vertical surfaces such as building walls and structures along roads and railways. The modules contain no glass, are unbreakable and come with their own mounting system.

She trained as a chemist and holds a doctorate in sciences from the University of Fribourg. She then moved into photovoltaics research at EPFL and CSEM. In 2019 she coordinated Be-Smart at EPFL's photovoltaics laboratory, an EU project to make building-integrated solar panels cheaper and easier to use for architects.

Perret founded the consultancy LMNT, which advises on photovoltaic technology, and the art and science collective Compáz. She sits on the boards of the energy company Groupe E and of Migros Neuchâtel-Fribourg.

She founded LightSeeds in 2024 with CTO Pierrick Duvoisin. In April 2026 it received CHF 150,000 from Venture Kick.
