
About Keaghan
Keaghan Ames is a principal in the financial services and tax practice of BGR Group in Washington. He advises clients on financial services, agriculture and tax matters and co-leads the firm's working group on sustainability, nutrition and commodities.
He joined BGR in 2023 as vice president and became a principal in 2026. Before that he was counselor and senior policy advisor to Commissioner Caroline D. Pham at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), where he worked with industry and with congressional agriculture committee staff.
Earlier he was director of government affairs at the Institute of International Bankers, covering capital markets and tax policy, and head of US regulatory policy at Credit Suisse Securities (USA). At PwC he helped financial institutions implement new regulations. During law school he clerked for CFTC Commissioner J. Christopher Giancarlo. He holds a JD from George Washington University Law School and a BA in political science from George Washington University.
