Jan Bumann

Jan Bumann is Director of the Association of Swiss Private Banks. He took over from Jan Langlo at the start of 2026, after more than ten years as the association's deputy director, a post he held from 2015 with responsibility for national issues that affect the banking sector.

His career began outside banking, as a project manager at PostFinance in Bern and a market analyst at Generali in Nyon. In 2009 he moved to Credit Suisse as a relationship manager. Three years later he joined Deutsche Bank in New York as a project leader in private banking.

He studied business management in Bern and holds an MBA from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Sydney, completed in 2007. He sits on several committees and working groups of the Swiss Bankers Association and economiesuisse, and he works in German, French and English.
