About Eric
Eric Plan is secretary general of CleantechAlps, the cleantech cluster of the western Swiss cantons. He developed its strategy and launched it in 2010. Since then about 600 cleantech start-ups have been created in the region and have raised around CHF 3 billion.
Plan is a mechanical engineer who studied at EPFL. He led measurement campaigns in Asia and the United States for ABB Power Generation. He later handled energy and environment projects at CimArk in Sion, where CleantechAlps is still based, and ran the secretariat of SusChem Switzerland until 2019, representing it on the European platform in Brussels. He has supported innovation and start-ups for more than 25 years and sits on the jury of the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award.
He comments regularly on the Swiss cleantech scene, for instance in PME and on the blog of the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property.
