Edwin Eichler

Edwin Eichler is chairman and CEO of EICHLER Consulting AG and has worked as an independent adviser and board member since 2013. In 2024 his company took over Rohrwerk Maxhütte, a pipe mill in Sulzbach-Rosenberg with around 300 employees.

He started out as an officer in the German Bundeswehr. In 1990 he joined Bertelsmann, where he worked in IT before running the printing company Mohndruck. From 1996 to 2002 he sat on the executive board of Bertelsmann's ARVATO division and led the Mohn Media printing group.

From 2002 to 2012 he was a member of the executive board of ThyssenKrupp AG. Over that decade he headed, at different times, the steel businesses in Europe and the Americas, the elevator business and materials services.

He has since held a number of board roles. He chaired the board of Schmolz + Bickenbach, later renamed Swiss Steel, from 2013 to 2019, chaired the supervisory board of SMS group and sat on the supervisory board of SGL Carbon. Earlier mandates include Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, KAEFER and Lürssen. He studied computer science.
