
About Brigitte
Brigitte Baumann is an angel investor and the founder of efino, a company set up in 2019 that trains and advises on start-up financing and angel investor ecosystems. She has invested in start-ups since 2003.
Before efino she founded Go Beyond Early Stage Investing and led it as CEO. By 2022 the network had invested more than EUR 27 million in 107 start-ups, and its exits include Lemoptix, which Intel acquired. Harvard Business School wrote a case study on Go Beyond in 2014. She was president of the European Business Angel Network (EBAN) from 2009 to 2012 and is now its President Emeritus. In 2015 EBAN named her European Business Angel of the Year. She has also chaired the YPO Global Angel Investing group.
Her earlier career was in large companies. She was a senior engagement manager at McKinsey in New York, Paris and Tokyo, a senior vice president at American Express Corporate Services, where she helped launch internet businesses including Expedia.com, president for the US and Canada at Gemalto and CEO of iWORLD Group. She studied chemical engineering and holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.
