Andy Lewin

Andy Lewin is a principal at BGR Group in Washington and heads its financial services practice. He works on financial services and tax issues and is the firm's point person for outreach to moderate Democrats in the House and Senate.

He joined BGR in 2017 and was named co-head of the financial services practice in 2021. Before that he spent nine years at the Podesta Group as a principal and head of financial services. Earlier he worked for three years in government and industry affairs at Zurich Financial Services. There he dealt with regulatory reform, natural catastrophes, taxation, climate change and terrorism risk insurance, and he chaired the Insurance Working Group of the Financial Services Roundtable.

On Capitol Hill he was legislative director for Representative Max Sandlin, then a member of the Ways and Means Committee, and later for Representative Dennis Moore, who chaired the Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas and a master's from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
