Alois Cavelti is deputy CEO of Solcept, the engineering firm in Wetzikon that develops electronics, firmware and software for companies and start-ups. He leads its software work, specialises in security and sits on its board.
His technical experience covers software for DECT cordless phones and sensor data processing, protocol stacks such as HDLC, ISDN and STANAG, FPGA and CPLD design for an RFID reader, Linux ports, a network transcoder for civilian and military networks, and broadcast transmitters. He also worked on the mechatronics and software of a radio-controlled pump and holds patents on identification technologies.
Cavelti began with an apprenticeship as a mechanical designer at BBC (later ABB) in Baden, earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering at FH Aargau and did postgraduate studies in software engineering at HS Rapperswil.
