Alexandra Beckstein

Alexandra Beckstein is CEO and co-founder of QAI Ventures, a venture fund and accelerator for start-ups in quantum technology and artificial intelligence. The company grew out of QuantumBasel at uptownBasel, where she had led strategy and the building of the start-up ecosystem.

QAI Ventures launched its accelerator in 2023. Each selected start-up receives CHF 100,000 plus services of the same value. Partners include the quantum computing company QuEra and, for a cohort in Alberta, Quantum City at the University of Calgary.

Beckstein is a geoscientist by training and later added business and leadership education. She has worked in start-ups, small companies and government, and she founded a renewable energy company in Berlin. She is the author of the book Bossing it: The future belongs to the bold.
