
About Alexander
Alexander Thoma has headed the digital assets division of PostFinance since 2020. He is responsible for all of the bank's products and initiatives in this field, from crypto transfers to staking and custody services for corporate clients, and represents PostFinance on the topic internally and externally. His team also takes part in larger industry projects such as a sandbox for a Swiss franc stablecoin and Project Agora, led by the Bank for International Settlements.
He moved into digital assets in 2017, when he co-founded the Swiss tokenisation company Alethena while still working full-time in another job.
Thoma sits on expert groups at the Swiss Blockchain Federation, the Swiss Bankers Association and the Asset Management Association Switzerland, and he is a founding member of Digital Assets Switzerland. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Zurich and is a Certified Digital Assets Analyst.
