About Swiss Data Alliance
The Swiss Data Alliance is an association that describes itself as an independent think tank for data policy. Founded in 2017 and based in Zurich, it brings together companies, associations and individuals and promotes dialogue on data policy between research, business, civil society and administration. Public administrations cannot become members. Its collective members include Accenture, AXA, IBM, Interpharma and Microsoft.
In 2023 it set up an expert group on the secondary use of data, which serves as a resource for the Federal Office of Justice as it prepares framework legislation. Since 2025 it has coordinated the Gaia-X Hub Switzerland, and it hosts MyData Zurich, the local community of the MyData network.
Each year the Swiss Data Alliance organises the Swiss Data Space Forum together with digitalswitzerland.
