About SIX

SIX operates the financial market infrastructure of Switzerland and Spain. The Zurich-based group runs stock exchanges, settles and holds securities, supplies financial information and provides payment services. It is not listed and belongs to around 120 national and international financial institutions, which are also its main users.

SIX was formed in 2008 from the merger of SWX Group, SIS Group and Telekurs Group. Its business is organised in four units: Exchanges, Securities Services, Financial Information and Banking Services. The exchanges include SIX Swiss Exchange and, in Spain, BME. In 2025 the group reported operating income of CHF 1.7 billion and employed more than 4,300 people in 19 countries.

SIX organises its own industry events on topics such as custody, post-trade and cyber security. In 2026 it launched the Swiss Anti-Fraud Summit together with the Swiss Bankers Association (SBA), as a platform where banks, telecoms and tech companies, online retailers and authorities tackle payment fraud together.
