About Schweizerische Bankiervereinigung
The Swiss Bankers Association (SBA), in German Schweizerische Bankiervereinigung, is the umbrella association of the Swiss financial centre. It represents its member banks towards authorities in Switzerland and abroad and develops self-regulation for the industry. Today it presents itself under the brand Swiss Banking.
The association was founded in 1912 and is based in Basel. Its members are banks and other financial institutions as well as individual members. In 1992 it set up the Swiss Banking Ombudsman foundation. Its training and knowledge platform is the Swiss Banking Academy.
Each year it holds the Swiss Bankers Day together with its general meeting. With SIX it initiated the Swiss Anti-Fraud Summit, first held in 2026.
