About SATW

The Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences SATW, in German Schweizerische Akademie der Technischen Wissenschaften, is a network of experts in the engineering sciences. Founded in 1981, it is an association based in Zurich, with an office in Lausanne, and one of the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences.

On behalf of the federal government, SATW identifies technological developments that matter for industry and informs politics and society about them. Its work includes the Technology Outlook, projects on cybersecurity and AI governance, and dialogue between science and society. For young people it runs TecDays, the Swiss TecLadies programme and the Technoscope publication series.

SATW is a member of Euro-CASE and CAETS. Together with Swiss Engineering, Empa and Swissmem it organises the Tage der Technik.
