ETH AI Center

The ETH AI Center is ETH Zurich's central hub for artificial intelligence, founded in 2020. It brings together research, industry collaboration and AI entrepreneurship, with the aim of trustworthy, inclusive and accessible AI systems. In July 2026 it counted 145 affiliated professors: most from all 16 ETH departments, and twelve from the University of Zurich and the University of St.Gallen.

It runs doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships and supports AI startups. With the EPFL AI Center it launched the Swiss AI Initiative in December 2023, and in 2024 the two centres formed the Swiss National AI Institute.

Since 2021 the center has held the annual AI+X Summit in Zurich, and it is one of the initiators of the Zurich AI Festival.
