Patrick Erny

Patrick Erny has been director of the Swiss Retail Federation since March 2026, succeeding Dagmar Jenni, who had led it for about ten years. The federation is an umbrella association for Swiss retail and represents retailers of every kind, from stationary shops to online and omnichannel businesses. Its work centres on political advocacy and fair competition between sales channels.

Erny joined the federation as deputy director in 2023. Before that he was political director of the Gewerbeverband Basel-Stadt, the cantonal trade and business association, from 2014 to 2023.

He is a political scientist by training and holds a master's degree in public management and policy from the universities of Bern and Lausanne.
