About Pascal
Pascal Bieri is a co-founder of Planted, the Swiss maker of plant-based meat, and a member of its management team, where he is responsible for sales and international business development. Planted was founded in 2019 as a spin-off of ETH Zurich and is headquartered in Kemptthal.
Bieri studied business at the University of St. Gallen and holds an MA in Business Innovation. He then spent five years at Migros Industrie, three of them in the United States, where he first came across meat alternatives. He founded Planted with Lukas Böni, Eric Stirnemann and Christoph Jenny.
Planted makes its products from plant proteins using its own structuring and fermentation processes. In 2024 it launched a fermented whole-cut steak, and in June 2025 it opened a second plant in Memmingen in southern Germany. The company has raised more than CHF 115 million and sells through more than 6,500 restaurants and 10,000 points of sale in Europe. In 2024 Bieri was named HSG Founder of the Year.
