About Dr.
Giovanna Dipasquale is CEO and co-founder of HeroSupport, a Geneva medtech start-up that improves radiotherapy for breast cancer. The company was founded in 2022 as a spin-off of the Geneva University Hospitals. Its product, VENUS SHELL, is a 3D-printed immobilisation shell made for each patient, who lies face-down during treatment.
Dipasquale is a medical physicist. She studied physics at the University of Pisa, specialised in medical physics and is certified in Switzerland as a medical physicist and radiation protection expert. She worked in radiotherapy at CHUV in Lausanne from 2001 and at the Geneva University Hospitals from 2003, where she introduced stereotactic radiosurgery and prone breast radiotherapy.
HeroSupport received CHF 150,000 from Venture Kick in 2023 and funding from the FONGIT Innovation Fund. Since April 2025 it has worked with Swiss Medical Network to bring the system into its radio-oncology centres. In October 2025 Dipasquale was named Female Innovator of the Year at the eighth Female Innovation Forum.
